A&M release Black compilation

Date:
5 November 1996

PolyGram have released a Black compilation album. The new CD is released in their "Master series", featuring more artists like Bananarama, Level 42 and Sam Brown. So far, I have only spotted the CD in the UK, but it is likely that the CD has also been (or will be) released in Europe.

The CD contains the following tracks:

  1. Wonderful life (4:46)
  2. Everything's coming up roses (4:04)
  3. Every waking hour (3:26)
  4. You are the one (3:52)
  5. The big one (3:52)
  6. You don't always do what's best for you (4:44)
  7. It's not over yet (5:15)
  8. Feel like change (4:35)
  9. You lift me up (3:45)
  10. You're a big girl now (4:19)
  11. All we need is the money (4:30)
  12. Here it comes again (4:20)
  13. She's my best friend (4:03)
  14. Fly up to the moon (3:05)
  15. Paradise (4:51)
  16. Sweetest smile (5:19)
  17. Ravel in the rain (3:47)
  18. Now you're gone (3:41)

The CD is released on the A&M records label and the catalogue number is 540 493-2. The booklet contains a small story about Black's career by one Michael Heatley. The release would have been more useful if A&M had decided to dust off the 12" tracks from "Wonderful life" and "I'm not afraid". Instead, they plunked out this compilation which adds nothing to the collection of faithful fans. A surprise release nonetheless and of course a nice try to get some quick money on the part of A&M!
